Isabel Valverde, Evelyn Butler2
I'm a transdisciplinary performer, choreographer and scholar. I develop experimental solo and collaborative performance art/dance work since 1986, choreographing embodied experiences in transversality with plastic materials and the somatic possibilities for inter-corporeality in performative and participatory mixed-reality environments.

PhD Dance History and Theory (UCR), MA Interdisciplinary Arts (SFSU), and New Dance (SNDD/AHK). Currently developing postdoc research at Laboratório Mocap/PPGD/UFBA, Brazil (CAPES/PNPD fellow). My PhD thesis "Interfacing Dance and Technology: a theoretical framework for performance in the digital domain" has been translated to Portuguese and published by FCT/FCG (2010). Researcher at CIAC/UAberta and associated researcher at GAIPS/INESC-ID, Portugal.
